Small Claims Court

The Small Claims Court, a division of the Superior Court of Justice, was created to help people resolve their minor disputes concerning money and personal property. On January 1st, 2010 the limit for Small Claims Court was increased from $10,000 to $25,000, allowing individuals and businesses to proceed with more claims, in a simple and inexpensive way. In Ontario, licensed paralegals are authorised to provide representation in all matters falling within the jurisdiction of the Small Claims Court.
